Solar My Schools @ Principals' Forum

Twenty-three local schools from around Randwick were represented at a breakfast briefing recently to hear about the Solar My Schools initiative on offer as part of the regional environmental program organised by Waverley, Randwick and Woollahra Councils.

Almost half the schools across the region have enquired or are working with the 3 Council’s Project Coordinator, Anthony Weinberg, on Solar My Schools, which is aiming to facilitate increased take-up of solar panels across eastern suburbs schools. With the technical support available, a number of schools are now on their way to funding solar installations on their rooftops of between 30 kilowatts and 99 kilowatts. The potential savings to the school from these solar panels is substantial as well as contributing to a corresponding reduction in greenhouse gas emissions – a great outcome for the environment!

If your school is interested in finding out how you can benefit from Solar My Schools, you can contact Anthony via email, anthony.weinberg@waverley.nsw.gov.au or by telephone 9083 8027.
