Chicken and Madeira vine (and their areal tubers)

Has anyone got experience in using chicken to help control Madeira vine (and their areal tubers)?
More precisely, do chicken eat the tubers ? are they toxic to chicken?
Thanks,
Alexia

  • While I have heard of chickens being used to control Tradescantia (and they do a very thorough job), I've not ever heard of them being deployed against Anredera cordifolia (Madeira Vine). Anredera cordifolia is poisonous to livestock, suspected of causing sudden death in cattle, and poisoning their water. It is not recommended that you let your chickens at this vine.
