Place a tray of water in the oven and heat the oven to moderate. Then with protective gloves wipe the oven surfaces letting the warm steam do the work of lifting the grease and baked on food. Use a small amount of bicarb soda diluted in water and re- wipe the surfaces as it cools. This will take out the odours.

There's a great product by 'enviroclean' called 'heavy duty all purpose (oven and bbq cleaner). I tried it and it really works! It just lifts the grease right off the surface. You just spray it on, leave it a while, then wipe it off. It smells great; also less sweat involved for you. The website is www.envirocareearth.com.au. This is the only one of their products i've tried......has anyone tried any others?
