Hi, anyone got any ideas about composting or recycling floor sweepings(flour, seeds etc) from a bakery??

  • Hi Michael, Depends on how much you have and proportion of flour to seeds. If high in seeds, then donate to a community garden that has chickens. If high in flower yet low total quantities you can donate to a garden that does large scale composting. If you are trying to get rid of large amounts of flour, this will be more difficult, as it 'cakes up' in compost and is too fine for chickens to make much use of it. check http://communitygarden.org.au/ for a community garden near you, contact them and have chat to see you if your trash will really be their treasure
