With all this rain worms across the city are in danger of drowning. Make sure leave the tap open

  • Good tip Lauren - I opened the tap on my worm farm this morning, at least 12 Litres of already diluted worm wee poured out! Leaving my tap open from now on.

  • I had a similar experience. I rescued many worms from the water using my finely tuned life saving techniques. However, mouth to mouth WAS very difficult.

  • Some worm farms have a plastic moulding that allows drowning worms to wriggle back up to the soil. If you dont have one, simply pop a small plastic plant pot upside down in the juice tray.

  • Put the lid on when away but still leave the tap on ton esure to the worm do not drown incase water stil breaks though if placed outside as worms like the dark. But if you are going away esure you put soaked only australian newspaper unless you know personally that the ink is safe as australian news uses soya based ink before you go away for them to feed on for months.

    Extra option ad a cotton bag on the lid as extra lid for additional warmth when away if going in winter
