Had a fantastic visit to Barrett House - so inspiring, full of innovative ideas! Open days for 2011?
It was exciting to find out that recycled glass can be used, as in the kitchen splashback. What company supplied this?
Re rainwater tank filters - do you know of an independent evaluation of different types of first flush and filters?
Many thanks,
Renée

Glad you enjoyed the visit, From February Barrett House will be open to the public on the first and third Thursday of the month when you can drop in anytime from 9:30am to 12:30pm for a sticky beak at all the retrofit items (so that's the 3rd and the 17th Feb).
I don't know of any independent evaluations of first flush and tank filters, however a good place to start your research would be to browse through the Technical Manual on the 'Your Home' website: http://www.yourhome.gov.au/technical/fs73.html.
There's also an interesting Choice Review buying guide on rainwater tanks: http://www.choice.com.au/reviews-and-tests/household/energy-and-water/saving-water/rainwater-tanks-buying-guide.aspx
Remember though, it's not advisable to harvest rainwater for drinking if you already have a potable water supply.
Please post back any other sources you find during your research.

Also, speak to http://www.colortile.com.au/index.html regarding the recycled glass splashback tiles installed at Barrett House.
